Guernsey is a tale of two halves.
Half of the coast is cliff paths, expect to ascend and descend regularly, steep and rugged.
Half is coastal, dunes and sweeping beach vistas.
Our intention is to loop the perimeter of the island starting in St Peter Port Harbour Saturday morning and then cruising back into St Peter Port before dusk falls Sunday evening.
In the midst of the Loire Valley, with grand french houses lining the Loire River, you will find the little village of Chinon.
Just outside of Chinon, through the tree lined avenues, you will find Chateau Marcay.
Come for the views, for the bird watching, the hiking trials, for the kayaking/pedal boats, all of which focus around the gorge-ous cold green clear water flowing against the white chalk cliffs. We chose a beautiful 3 hour round trip kayak adventure…
Despite the dense start line the 60’odd strong fleet quickly spreads out, and the all too familiar burn of the lungs and the muscles quickly sets in.
